Are you thinking
about the kind of future you want to have? Is it a specific dream of a certain
job or relationship? Do you want to marry? If so, how old would you like to be
when you marry? What are some of the things you want to do before you marry? Do
you want to earn a certificate or degree, travel, or move to another location?
Do you want to have one or more children? Do you plan to support yourself and
your children by working? Or, do you hope to marry or partner with someone who will
make enough money to support the whole family? Do you have any idea how much it
will cost to support you and a child?
Maybe you have a
more general dream, such as “I want to be happy and have enough money to do
what I want to do.” What do you think will make you happy? Will it take money
to make you happy? What kind of things do you want to do that might cost money?
Where will you get that money? Your reply to these important questions will
affect the rest of your life, so now is a really good time to think about YOUR
answers.
Have you ever told someone your dream of the future or written it down? Studies
show that people who write or tell someone their dreams are more likely to reach
them. If you have not done this, why don’t you stop and write your dream of the
future right now?
Some people prefer to tear pictures and words from old magazines, and create a
poster that shows what they would like to happen in their future. If you don’t
want to write down your dreams for the future, consider creating a poster that
shows what you want.
