Young Women and Money
Start Saving Some Money
First Piece
Dream Your Future

Do you spend all the money you have, or worse, more than what you have, or do you save a little money every time you get some? If you answer, “YES” to the latter, then GOOD FOR YOU! You are already on your way to making your dream come true.

If you answered, “NO, I have not saved any of the money that has come to me,” today is the right day to start a savings habit. A habit is something that we get used to doing, and then repeat it over and over. You may have a habit of drinking a soda for breakfast, or you may have a habit of watching a particular TV show. Once you have the habit, you don’t really have to think about it very much to keep doing it.

Developing a savings habit is just like that. At first, it doesn’t matter much how much or how little you save. What really matters is that you consistently repeat the behavior.

Some people don’t develop a savings habit because they believe they can’t afford to save any money. Do you know if you only save a dime ($.10) a day, that at the end of a year you will have $36.00 in savings? If you save a quarter ($.25) a day, in 365 days the savings will be $91.25. At the end of five years, a dime a day yields a savings of $180, and a quarter a day $456.25.

Don’t have a dime a day? Two recyclable bottles or cans can provide that dime a day!

Start a savings habit TODAY! YOU CAN DO THIS, AND IT WILL HELP YOU TO ACHIEVE YOUR WILDEST DREAM!
